I am an amateur astronomer located in Saint John, New Brunswick and I have been passionate about the wonders of the night since the day I watched an astronaut walk on the Moon.

I am a long term member of the Saint John Astronomy Club and the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC). In 2018 I was awarded the prestigious RASC Qilak award for excellence in astronomy outreach.

In 2004, I received my first telescope. The day I first offered a view of the Moon to some local visitors was the day I was hooked. I was so pleased with their reaction, and I knew that I had to make it my mission to show celestial treasures to as many people as possible.

I reach out to my social media followers by offering live streams and daily updates on what’s up and I also offer STEM related educational talks to classrooms throughout the local area, and beyond.

I spend many evenings offering “sidewalk astronomy”… in person outreach from wherever people gather, something I learned from noted astronomer John Dobson (1915-2014), but my favorite location to offer outreach is at a local beach, adjacent to the first urban star park in Canada and on the shores of the beautiful Bay of Fundy.

I’m also heavily involved in giving back to the community by supporting local groups like Guides, Scouts and senior’s homes and I’m excited to have you share this journey with me.
